The College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti was established as School of Health Technology in 1997 following the creation of Ekiti State in October in 1996. The State Government believed there was need to Increase the strength of middle-level health personnel in order to supplement the existing manpower in Ekiti State
Academic programmes commenced formally in Jan. 1999 with two courses. They were Community Health Extension Workers in training and Junior Community Health Extension Workers in training. On 2nd January, 2000 the Institution introduced four additional courses. They were Medical Laboratory Assistants in training, Health Assistants (Pharmacy) in training, Medical Records Technicians in training and Environmental Health Assistants in training programmes.
Moreover, the long awaited Bill for the establishment of the College was assented to on the 21st January, 2011. It was a profound experience in the annals of history of the Institution that its status by this development, metamorphosed from School to College.

It is important that the members of the general public should be briefed about the history of the College, its entry requirements, College Rules and Regulations/code of conduct, and other pertinent information for the benefit of all and sundry.
The College of Health Sciences and Technology Ijero-Ekiti has been designed to groom some categories of Health workers who are to become future practitioners in the health care delivery system.
The College ranks one of the best among other Schools/Colleges of Health Technology in West African sub-region. Those who are hoping to be trained and become part of our reputable products all over the world should endeavour to peruse the brochure to assist them in the choice of preferred course of studies. Candidate is advised to strive in order to be the best among equals in the competition for a place in the list of students of the College. However, the College does not tolerate examination malpractices, cultism and any act of indiscipline. It is our fervent hope that if admitted and eventually become our product, one will be bold enough to raise his or her shoulder high as an alumnus of the College.
